So we haven’t heard any Tiger & Woods action in a while. But they seem to be back in the production bizness as they put out some teasers of their upcoming Golden Bear EP. This is a little mix they have put together which feature some unreleased gems, some soon to be released tracks and some songs that they love. This is a super mix, pure Tiger & Woods vibes all over it. Nice!
David James, or as you may know him best, Deadly Sins has put together this super fine mix. David started his GIANT CUTS label 2 years ago with outputs of juicy slo-mo / beatdown soul music. We’re a big fan of his boogie productions and have been spinning them a lot in our own sets over the last couple of years.
This mix is a slightly different from what we’ve become accustomed to from Mr James. He stays with the slo-mo vibe, but moves into deeper, house territories. Featuring tracks from some of the producers that are really doing it for us right now - Ron Basejam, Detroit Swindle, Medlar, Ejeca & Huxley… to name just a few. Looking at this line up, you know you’re in for a treat even before you hit play. So go on, give it a spin! Happy Monday.
Ejeca & Chamboche – Keep The Love (David James Re Spray)
Andy Hart & Max Graef – Super Strain
Hot Toddy – Mutha Sucka (Ron Basejam Remix)
Frank Booker – Its Time
Deadly Sins – Keep Movin (Straight Ahead)
Zoo Look – Over Me (Detroit Swindle ReWork)
Jimpster – Can’t Stop Loving (DS EDIT)
Danny J Lewis – Dark Desire
Shenoda – Suntrap
Huxley – Bellywedge
Pablo Valentino – One (Detroit Swindle Remix)
Michael Jansons feat Mizbee – Addiction
Glenn Astro – The Power (Medlar Remix)
Frank Roger – Don’t You Know
Nick Nikolov – Come Down (Original Mix)
We love a good disco/house mix here at Givafizz and Borneland are truly spoiling us with this, their April ’13 mix. If you haven’t heard of them then let this act as a sumptuous meal for your ears and introduction to their world. The boys are from Copenhagen and work as DJ’s, bookers and have both graduated as Media Graphic Designers. Their eye for perfection has definitely found it’s way in to this mix as there are some sublime cuts of disco and house to groove to, to the extent that we really struggled to pick favorites… they’re all so damn good! With tracks from the likes of Karl Hungus, PiMO, Rodney Hunter and Kraak & Smaak you know what to expect and this mix made us go all goose pimply. They’ve shared the stage with some massive artists including Azari & III, Aeroplane, Trentemoller and Friendly Fires. So now you can boast to all your friends that you heard about them 1st (well, maybe after Givafizz), oh and did we mention it’s free to download…
Paulie, one half of the Cosmonauts, has been putting together a few solo mixes recently – taking us on a journey through deep & disco sounds. The last two mixes have been top, and his latest in the series is no different. He also has some solo productions in development – we will be keeping our ears open for that as soon as it lands. Until then, take this baby for a ride. Tracklist to follow soon.
This mix is simply awesome, been listening to it loads over the last couple of weeks. Flight Facilities take us chronologically from 1972 – 1982. It´s got samples of major events in history along with 34 tracks / edits. Pure gold, on repeat play. More like this please Flight Facilities.
The Northern Irish lads Bicep are doing some takeovers on Rinse.FM, and for the first one they wanted to go back to the Hot Tub Jamz with some fun (and pretty damn camp!) funk and disco selections. In the new year they will be doing monthly mixes for Rinse.FM – sure to be a deeper selection of House and Techno that we’ve come to expect from the gents. Nice! In the meantime, getting moving to this bad boy.
It’s magic time again, as The Magician delivers his last mix of 2012. There’s no tracklist as usual – but it’s a mixed bag this time, from pretty fruity disco through to deeper vibes and some straight up house. Give it a spin, it’s tasty!
